She is a prolific songwriter, often using fairy tales as metaphors when writing about herself.
Though she does indeed sing backup on 'Everywhere' and 'Go Your Own Way', the former was a Christine McVie song and latter a Lindsey Buckingham song (he wrote that before joining Fleetwood Mac, but didn't record it until The Rumours album…Stevie and Lindsey were romantically involved and had broken up during the time it was written…it was completely written about her, and not one of her favored songs due to Lindsey dissing her about cheating on him…It is however the most popular concert tune for Fleetwood Mac)
When Lindsey wrote that song, Stevie wrote 'Landslide' - about Lindsey leaving her stranded on the road in freezing temps on a mountain road.
It is ironic that for as bad as he treated her, he wouldn't take the offer to join Fleetwood Mac unless Stevie could join with him. Mick Fleetwood and John McVie scratched their heads debating on letting the guitar player's girlfriend join the band and left it to their only female band mate, Christine McVie (John's wife at the time) to approve of Stevie joining the band.
She said none of them knew who Stevie was, so she asked if she could meet her over a cup of coffee first.
Upon meeting her, she didn't find any reason to object to letting Stevie join the band.
A wise decision, since the band were launched instantly into superstardom once the band released Stevie's song, 'Rhiannon', which became her signature song.
And Stevie's 'Dreams' became the band's first number one chart hit.
Stevie and Lindsey continued having a rocky relationship which lead to abuse and a permanent breakup.
Stevie began an affair with drummer, Mic Fleetwood, who was married to Sara Fleetwood.
Stevie's song, 'Sara' is partly written about that, but she was also romantically involved with Don Henley, singer and drummer for The Eagles, whom she aborted the child she would've had with him had they stayed together, but she says she was so messed up on drugs at the time, the child most likely would've been deformed or brain damaged anyway.
She could not manage motherhood and being in one of the biggest bands in the world at the same time.
She also couldn't manage being tied down to one man, as it would never work out with her being a major star.
Another affair she had in the 70s, was with Walter Egan, who wrote the song, 'Magnet and Steel' about him and Stevie.
A couple of his album feature most of the band members of Fleetwood Mac on them, so he feels like a lost member of Fleetwood Mac -
The song, 'The Chain', was originally 2 different songs, Christine McVie's 'Keep Me There' and a blend of 2 songs of Stevie's 'The Chain and 'If Ever You Did Believe'
Lindsey wrote the music for Christine's song but wasn't wild about her lyrics for it, so he used some lines from Stevie's song to complete it, so it became the one song the band had a hand in writing.
Here are the 2 early versions of it -
Brittney Spears was most likely most influenced by Madonna, but I find this mashup amusing -
I had done a lengthy cover thread for Stevie and a separate one for Christine McVie and other members of Fleetwood Mac
I fixed up the Stevie thread since some vids for it had gotten deleted from YouTube since I first created it.
Here's what's left of it -

I have to figure out which ones are no longer available and I'll see if I can find any others to replace them with.
Are you okay? -

I had a dream that the presidents and celebrities came over to my house to watch a Fleetwood Mac concert on my tv.
They had hired a bartender and cook and put a sign up on my front door. It was so crowded.
And Joe Biden was acting like my friend. He kept kissing me too.
