Watford (4-4-2) Gomes; Zuniga, Prodl, Britos, Holebas; Guedioura, Behrami, Capoue, Amrabat; Okaka, Deeney.
Everton (4-2-3-1) Stekelenburg; Coleman, Williams, Funes Mori, Baines; Gueye, Barry; Deulofeu, McCarthy, Mirallas; Lukaku.
    Referee Anthony Taylor.
    Watford 12/5
    Everton 13/10
    Draw 12/5
    Preamble by Rob Smyth
Any meeting of Watford and Everton will always bring back memories of the 1984 FA Cup final: Andy Grays infamous goal, Michael Barrymores comedy racism (no longer on YouTube, which meant it didnt really happen). Both teams arent quite replicating their 1980s golden age, but they are in relatively rude health: Watford are enjoying a second consecutive season in the top flight for the first time since the days when The A-Team was primetime television, and Everton have been the best of the rest for much of the past 15 years.
Most people know the story of the 1984 FA Cup final between Everton and Watford. Many forget that, either side of that match at Wembley, they took part in two storming games at Vicarage Road: Watford 4-4 Everton and Watford 4-5 Everton.
Everton are in poor form at the moment, however, with only one win in their last 10, and Watford is not the easiest place to go on a mucky Saturday in December.
An email! Everton were pathetic for much of the match last Sunday against the worst Manchester United XI Ive seen in 20 years, writes Gary Naylor. There were a lot of rumblings in the crowd about Koemans commitment to the cause, his typically Dutch er Sod You! demeanour not helping with fans who are, dare I say, sentimental about the club, something Moyes and Martinez understood from day one. I dont care for 4-4-2 as a tactical formation, but its also a state of mind, and I think we need it today. A supine 1-0 defeat and the Christmas spirit will absent itself from Goodison, with Arsenal and Liverpool next up.
Yes, Koemans teams tend to be quiet achievers, which is perfect for some clubs but maybe not Everton.

Pile of crapola so far, mate. Empty seats as well. Might bail on this one if things don't lively up. Having said that, Lukaku's just potted for 0-1.

Lukaku inside the box collected Barry's curling ball in and slipped it past the sleeping Gomes on '17 for 0-1.

First Lukaku, now Okaka. Good work by Guedioura down the right to feed Okaka in the box who converted with a delightful backflick on '36. One-all.

The end of the first half.
Today's clash hasn't been that attractive up to now, but it hasn't been a total borefest. There have been a few nice movements for both sides. The host team has dominated the game in almost all aspects so far and their opponents have struggled to keep up. Both the home and away side are tying long passes and crosses into the box.
              1-1

              Everton 15/8
              Draw 7/5
              Next team to score
              Watford 6/4
              Everton 11/8
              No third goal 5/2

Amid a cluster of Everton defenders, Prodl picked out Holebas's cross and headed past a stationary Stekelenburg.
Against the second half run of play, but Everton's defending there was woeful.
                2-1

Not good from Everton today. Watford, with the victory, will leapfrog the Toffees into 7th.

It'a second for Okaka as he meets Holebas's corner and heads home on '64. 3-1.

Lukaku pounces on Lennon's ball in and heads it beyond Gomes to give the Toffees a scent of a point. 3-2.

That's all for today because the game is over.
We have seen a great game today, let's hope the players will be able to maintain these high levels of play in order to keep fans entertained in future games. There wasn't any evident superiority by either side today. Both sides attempted to create scoring opportunities mostly with long balls.
Watford up to 7th for now, Everton just one PL win in ten.
