Was the North American continent populated by Vikings and Irish who were systematically destroyed, with the survivors forced to live on reservations? Poor comparison.

I don't think people are offended at all, people have decided that if they dislike something it's offensive, I find it hard to believe that if a sports announcers say "touchdown Redskins" that and Indian lose their appetite or can't sleep because it's so bothersome.
