Since the game is sponsored by Red Bull, I just figured that those little soccer rascals would be zipping around at light speed and actually score enough goals to make this lame sport interesting enough to watch for a few minutes.
A baseball score of 75-14 might also make that sport watchable too. I'll pass on any sport where someone can play for 2 to 3 hours and the final score is often something like 1-0 or 2-0. -

Football aint about scoring a bunch of goals mate, it is about that
one special goal
, that one special moment in a game in the 86th minute with the scores at 0 - 0, that one moment that wins it for your team, for fans, for your nation! THATS the beauty of this sport.

Yes, that was exciting. But it also illustrates one of the reasons why most Americans don't like soccer. The players are such FAKERS! That guy was hardly touched. He FLOPPED! Get the Academy Award ready.
The other problem is that there is too little scoring. 90 - 95 minutes, and nil to nil or one nil.
PS Another problem is you never know when the match has ended. They'll hit 90 minutes, then they say there's 5 minutes of stoppage time. Then the clock hits 95 minutes, and the match keeps going.

I think there is a rule that means if a team is in an attacking play with a few seconds of stoppage time left then the ref has to wait for that play to no longer be a play before he blow the final whistle
so for example, if there is only 4 seconds on the clock left and a player is running in on goal the ref will disregard the clock and see what happens, even if all stoppage time is up. If the player scores the ref will allow it but if the keeper saves it or a defender makes a tackle and boots the ball upfield the ref will then blow the whistle
Plus, sometimes things happen
during
stoppage time that hold the game up so the ref adds EXTRA stoppage time

That and plus there is just not enough action.
Watch a bunch of guys running around a big field hardly ever touching the ball or making it move back and forth and if they are lucky enough to get anywhere close to the goal they miss like 99 out of 100 times.

I am surprised hockey is not more popular since that is faster with non stop action all the way through.

Did you know that the avg. time of actual action of a football game is around 10 minutes or so?
The majority of time is players standing around in between plays, injury timeouts etc.
What is really insane is how they have taken what should be a one hour game and added on another two hrs with all the ****ing commercials.
