When I played basketball, my team was just the name of an insurance company or law office. There were teams sponsored by fast food franchise owners, and a bunch of other **** for peewee sports.
Not sure how common that is elsewhere.

Have the original Bad News Bears on in the background, and noticed they have business logos on the back of their jerseys, but they also have team names like Bears and Yankees. We didn't have that ****. Our team was just called McMinn & Ledoux lol. Also, a team called Popeyes Chicken. They should've added a name. I thought that was tacky even back then.

Oh yeah a lot of the sports teams when I was a kid had business names on the jerseys but it wasn't part of the name of the team at all.

Yeah, it was lame. One sorta unique thing I did like was where I went to school, we didn't have like one elementary school. We had a school for the Kindergarten, one for 1st and 2nd, 3rd and 4th, 5th and 6th, jr. high, and HS., and all the schools had different mascots in the 3rd and 4th grade school, we had contests where the students came up with and voted on the mascot.
I think we had several elementary schools because thwy were originally segregated. 3/4 and 5/6 had similar architecture
