How realistic is being able to find a planet that is suitable for humans, and get people there in a reasonable amount of time?
I'm flabbergasted so many people are unwilling to do things to reduce, pollution, waste and climate change, which would be much easier to do. -

You aren’t wrong but we will never know if a planet is suitable until we try. Earth can’t survive forever. At some point if humanity wants to survive, we have to move elsewhere. Or we can all just kill ourselves like matt_shade wants.

I would say real buddy.But the only real motivation was to one up the Soviets.Kind of shameful that as soon as they figured the russians were to broke to continue,the Americans scrapped any further moon missions.
