The US Department of Energy is expect to announce they achieved fusion that has for the first time produced a net energy gain. If true, this would be the biggest news ever. Everything you know about the world will change. Fusion produces more energy than you put in, meaning we won't have to worry about energy ever again.
We won't have to worry about water shortages. We can just desalinate ocean water.
We won't have to worry about food production.
We won't have to worry about heating and cooling bills.
We won't have to worry about fossil fuels. No more gas stations. No more wars.
We won't have to worry about working so hard because the energy you need to live your life will be cheap and possibly even free.
Everything just got easier and better. -

Like all the promising cancer research treatments in the past, this probably will never be heard of again once the researchers on this project get a few mil in payoffs by the oil industry to torpedo the testing and move on to something else
