I wish I had enough money to customize my house for my pets. I want to install tunnels that go through the walls connecting rooms for dogs and cats to run through and play.

Do you have any pets now? If you contact a local shelter, they can tell you if they have any dogs that came from abused homes, but ask a lot of questions. Some abused dogs have severe psychological problems and can be "snappy" with owners or visitors. Others can have health problems like broken bones that were never set properly.
