I saw this movie on TV in the 70's and it goes like this.
A mother of a large family is trying to keep them all together in spite of trials and tribulations.
A handsome bachelor wants her to be with him and he wishes to be a father to her kids but she's reluctant.
    Here are some key scenes.

    1. The oldest boy is having a party thrown for him but he disappears and the family goes looking for him. Two of the boys ride tandem on a single seat bike searching for him.
    2. The Mother is told by her oldest daughters boyfriend (played by the actor who played Freddie 'Boom-boom' Washington on Welcome back Kotter) that she's pregnant and says; "Go look at her t!ts! So long Grandma!"
The mother storms into her daughters room and half-heartedly beats her with a hairbrush, crying harder than the daughter is.
    3. Her oldest son decides to have a vasectomy (or was it a circumcision?)and the younger brother invites his friends over to see, saying that he was totally castrated, but then they come out of the apartment saying; "He didn't cut his $ick off!"
    4. Finally the bachelor wins over the mother and he's welcome to the family and as he holds the littlest girl on his lap she says to him; "(my brother) eats invisible food." causing him to roar with laughter.
      Name the movie.

        Yep, that's the one!
Its been so long that I made some memory errors.
The boyfriend was actually the oldest brother and I got mixed up.
It was the bachelor who was to have the party, and so on.
        Thanks!
