Why do people always meltdown about food here?

The Brits always meltdown when you point out British food is bland. DF melts down if you call a biscuit a scone. Yesterday I made Fugazi meltdown by making fun of gumbo. It's just food, people.

To be fair, a biscuit does differ from a scone.
British food IS bland.
Then there’s gumbo. Hmm. Never mind.
