This happened to me when I was trying to steal a Razr Scooter.
The old lady asked if I paid for that and I just hopped on and zoomed out of the store as she chased me.

I'm not going to allow myself to be treated like a criminal by someone who works at Walmart for a living.
I agree about showing them the receipt, but you're degrading the very employees in a place you're dependent on to able to use their services, and at which you're willing to shop.
With low prices, there's going to be low income employees. You're taking advantage of all the customer
benefits
of having low income employees yet you're degrading them for working there.
