Paramount+ has canceled “Star Trek: Starfleet Academy” after two seasons.
The decision comes less than two weeks after the season 1 finale premiered on March 12. Paramount+ renewed the “Star Trek” series for season 2 before the first had aired. A premiere date for the show’s second and final installment, which wrapped filming last month, has not yet been announced.

Go woke, go broke!
Not a thing. Never has been.
Norman Lear wasn't broke, and Star Trek has lasted 60 years as the wokest of woke franchises, so try again because this one was a swing and a miss.

You're dead wrong, Shauquatta! Star Trek was
not
really that woke, and most of its run was
before
the woke bullshit.

Trek has always been about exploring boundaries and why they exist through interesting and provocative stories which captured the spirit of understanding assurance in the now with questions about what can be
Trek, since 2009, has been about trying to establish flag stakes in what can't be challenged and doing so with distracting visual flairs and provocative marketing highly indicative of the now, and why it perished
The dream of Trek, a peaceful society filled with very different individuals working collectively for the betterment of all, still exists - it just doesn't fly under that banner's name any longer
But, there's something to be learned from every error. And the lesson to take away from the last decade or so's foray into Trek is that we should listen to good storytellers who have seen, firsthand, what it is they are talking about. People who stayed home and collected their stories, and were inspired by them, are only useful at telling their own stories - and to make them good often means to go exploring into new territories themselves -

Hasn't Star Trek been woke from the start?
Bingo.
"woke" is in the very DNA of STar Trek. Star Trek without the "woke" isn't Star Trek

Ur laughing like the people involved are hurting right now when in fact it's all going to plan for them.
I don't know the inner workings, but it was money laundering, and the cancellation somehow helps them get away with it. -

Paramount+ has canceled “Star Trek: Starfleet Academy” after two seasons.
Heartbreaking, but not unexpected. I was warned about a year ago that the show had been internally cancelled at Paramount before a single episode had ever aired. It's a victim of the Skydance merger. The show was greenlit before the Ellisons took over and it didn't meet their vision. It's a shame because it was the absolute best Star Trek series since DS0 which ended 27 years ago. The writing was sharp, the scripts were great and the cast had instant chemistry. Episodes like 'The Life of the Stars' even retroactively made Voyager's 'Real Life' a better episode by adding further context and consequences. All in all, an excellent series.
Sadly, this is probably the end of the road for STar Trek as a franchose because the Ellisons don't understand Star Trek. They are MAGA. Star Trek is anti-MAGA to it's core, so the two simply don't mix. The Ellisons will try to relaunch a STar Trek n their image and it will flop hard. Star Trek fans will never accept it. But at least we know that REAL Star Trek ended on a high note.

Nonsensical statement as all Star Trek is woke. THe franchise has been woke to it's very core since 1966. Star Trek without the woke isn't Star Trek.
Also, the show was not low rated at all. It was a solid hit for Paramount +, consistently in the top ten.
