I adore Christina, so I was shocked to see that she went along with filming the scenes that subtly praised the hateful notion of the "Aryan race." The character's call for Muslim students to be sent to school in their traditional wear so that they can be easily identified is unacceptable.
I am glad that these scenes were cut.. but I have no respect for the writer, director, or Christina for thinking that this was acceptable.

But isn't the whole point of Applegates character is that she is a pretty much awful person?

OKso you have no respect for Christina, who is an actress playing a part. Maybe should have no respect for Gwendolyn. Just a thought

It was a CHARACTER, man. You're supposed to hate her for those things, and laugh at her ignorance. Anyone and I mean ANYONE, from any culture that takes offense at the CHARACTER or the actress playing her has COMPLETELY missed the boat. When did people become so unable to tell SATIRE of hateful attitudes from actual hateful attitudes? How else can we PROPERLY MARGINALIZE AND MAYBE EVEN ELIMINATE THEM if we don't uphold them as something laughable and worthy of ridicule?
