That's interesting, but no, Stranger Things is based on D&D.

It's based on multiple things. Yes D&D is one of those things. So are 80's King and Spielberg stories, but read the article. The show was even almost called Montauk.

But yeah, ST has influences from all throughout the 80's and maybe a little 70's and 90's. It's pretty much 80's in show form.
