Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Unforgotten

I've caught a few glimpses of him in other shows (mainly Shetland) and never really gave him much thought.
His performance as Colin was breathtaking. Gotta be nominated for something. The scene between him and Nicola Walker was intensely emotional and moving. Awesome acting by both and with neither feeling the need to chew the scenery to make their point.
    Awesome

I have seen him in many supporting roles in the last few years, but having two pivotal roles in two series broadcasted in parallel (this and "Apple Tree Yard"), really left a very strong impression. Its a little like watching Nicola Walker suddenly getting leading roles in two mini series broadcasted in parallel last year (River and the 1st season of Unforgotten). In both cases it sort of propels an understated actor forward, demanding our attention.

Hard to believe that Bar scene with Nicola was the first scene he filmed when shooting began

Agreed. His performance in Unforgotten is one of the finest performances I have ever seen. Faultless and very moving.
