First in my mind came David Lynch. I got so many vibes from Lost Highway and Mulholland Drive. Not only plot but how it was directed.
I've also lot of similiarities from movie Fight Club. -

I'm amazed you didn't list Fight Club. There is a new thread every single week about how Mr. Robot was STOLEN from Fight Club.
Each person acts like they are the first to notice similarities until you want to throw a crme pie in their face.
IMDB should make it a condition to logging into this board that you acknowledge that this piece of bubble gum has been chewed until its lost all of its flavor.
I don't know everything. Neither does anyone else -

The thread should be entitled "Influences
on
mr robot?" instead
I would say The Sopranos has influenced it through dream sequences, hallucinations, flash backs of his childhood and how childhood marked his personality, spoofs and their irony, the psychiatrist sessions. I always had the feeling the director wanted a piece of modern originality achieved in The Sopranos. However, he overdoes it a bit in Session 2.
"First in my mind came David Lynch." Yes, the Commodore interview is like taken from Twin Peaks
