I think the creator said Fight Club was a large inspiration so the show probably wouldn't exist without it.

I understand. But Sam could have still made a series about a man suffering from disassociate identity disorder whose alter personality seeks revenge on the people/groups that endanger the core personality without copying elements of Fight Club.
