I couldn't really tell whether his daughter had made up the "exposure" allegation against their neighbour. It pretty much was her word against his, there isn't necessarily going to be "physical evidence" of it happening. If she did make it up, it concerns me that a child would even know about that kind of thing. 😐

Kinda reminds me of The Children's Hour. In that case the girl who made the false education got the idea from an adult novel she was not supposed to have been reading.
I posted a thread about tge girl, Sarah Lutes. Although one could surmise that she did not participate in the episode because of guiltshe may have just not wanted to talk about what her father did.

Kids see this stuff on TV all the time now. She had probably been watching "Law & Order: SVU" or something.
I would never immediately discount a child's accusation of sexual abuse, but if it were against a long-time trusted friend, I'd certainly want to get to the truth of the matter. The people who knew the girl best, aside from her father, felt she might not have been telling the
        whole
truth. That's not to say that they didn't believe
        something
had happened, just maybe that it didn't happen the way Sarah(?) said. Maybe the old man was getting dressed in his room, thinking she was asleep, and she saw him. Maybe she walked in on him using the bathroom. Idk She also was having a hard time adjusting to her dad's girlfriend and her kids moving in. As much as I'd hate to think this is the case, she could've done it to get more attention from him, since he was now dividing his time among other people.
Like the other poster said, her not appearing to defend her father could be a sign of guilt, because that accusation caused the death of six people, including her father. Or, it could be that she just doesn't want to have to deal with it any more.

          I thought this too

There was a similar case where a neighbor thought his Daughter was molested and it turned out it wasn't true. He ended up murdering the neighbor in cold blood. Makes you wonder why he was obsessed and having dreams of his daughter being molested
