It certainly is not English. I can listen to long exchanges and they might as well be speaking Swahilli. I cant even pick up the odd word. EVERY word is just all vowels, no consonants.
Eh, ooo, aaa, uh, eah a!
You can seriously understand what they are saying can you?
I can understand the officers just fine. But even our Girl descends into the pidgin madness when she is with the boys.
Does the middle class not speak English anymore? Or is that all lower class gutter talk? It is appalling. Even America's worst red necks sound like geniuses compared.
I had to find a sub title file for the first episode. I could understand the African foreigners English just fine in Episode 2. Now in Ep 3, we are back to Manchester gibberish. Mank is it called?
Sorry, but it sounds truly appalling and totally unintelligible. Even Cockney sounds better. I can actually understand some Cockney at least. -

You get used to accents..
When Brits heard American 'talkies' for the first time in the 1930's, many people couldn't understand the American accent because unlike today, Brits hadn't grown up watching American films and tv shows. -

I have been watching BBC and UK movies all my life. I LOVE Torchwood, Primeval etc. I dont have ANY problems with understanding all words and even the slang.
But this Manc thing is like not even English. It is all vowels and no consonants.
Complete gibberish. I understand the officers. Just not the soldiers or her family at home.
