From my understanding, Grace was already having psychotic episodes before she left for college.
She finally went home and then discovered that her birth was the result of a rape. The demon "entered" her when she went into the woods.
So my question is, since Grace was the result of a sin/rape, thus was the demon always there.
Only when did she became sexual, that the demon manifested itself in Grace.

The demon entered her on her first day of college, before the film was pov, it went in through the back of her head.
