Had humanity attacked the Aliens, they would not have stood a chance. Any civilization that can travel the stars would have as much technological advantage over us as we would have over a hill of fire ants.

Possibly. But the whole thing about this was that the characters didn't know what the aliens were capable of doing, or even why they were here. Despite the ending, there still are a lot of unanswered questions about what the aliens could theoretically do.

Or if they even achieve FTL Space-travel. The ships vanish, they don't breach our atmosphere. They could literally be future Earthlings or even distant-past Earthlings (a la Star Wars).
There is zero evidence this "craft" did any traveling at any point in the film. They simply teleport at the end.

They didn't look at all like future earthling and said at one point they had come to meet us as they needed our help in 3000 years time. Also a major part of the story was the gift they gave us by making us more like them, by making us able to see backwards and forwards in time, it would make no sense for future earthlings to give us that gift, aside from it being a paradox how they obtained that from their own future selves, it's clearly something that they evolved differently to us, which they got from how their language developed and then shaped their perception and development.
Also how is teleporting not traveling? I guess maybe you wanted a faster than light travelling sequence like in 2001, or contact, or even stargate, which would have been nice yes, but maybe it's been done enough times already.

Teleporting frees the vessel from experience a long voyage in spatial reality. So when we say FTL Travel we mean long long distances traversed. Else FTL isn't needed. At no point does a teleporter travel faster than lightspeed since no "speed" is needed at all.
From certain frames-of-reference, Light itself has no "speed."

Besides, millions of people are stung by fire ants and at least 12 people die every year due to fire ant attacks.
