        Depends which DD you're talking about, the theatrical version or the director's cut that most of us pretend doesn't exist.

            Haha yea the DC was a letdown imo, made the film worse and destroyed the mystery

                Yes, exactly. Also Frank (in DD) and the aliens (in Arrival) leading the main character to avoid the "end of the world", falling in love, visions, the final answer etc.
