Longlegs is a disturbing movie

I'm mostly disturbed that I forgot Nicolas Cage was in and did this movie, and went in blindly to see this. It's probably the only non-kiddie movie I haven't seen recently, so I figured i'd tick it off the list, even though something in the back of my mind was nagging me to remember not to see this.
This is the kind of movie that reminds me why I can no longer be friends with Nicolas Cage. It's really grade C in every way, other than Nicolas Cage delivering a chilling performance and probably his best in many many years. The premise was suitably disturbing, but not in an enjoyable way.
The single most disturbing thing about this movie was what have they done with Alicia Witt? She's an all time great babe and still prime at 48, but they made her look like a 90 year old meth addict and i'm pretty bitter about it. Fuck all that.
And Blair Underwood looks super old now, unrecognizable. And sounds like he's a 100 packa day smoker to boot…
Alicia Witt has a bigger role than you may initially think, even though she's listed along Blair Underwood as the main stars in the credits instead of the FBI girl, oddly enough. She's complained it was disturbing for her in every way to the point she doesn't want to even see the movie. Good call, but really bad call to even get involved with this. Is she really hurting that bad for work?
Too bad this movie has the cheap, weirdo vibe of every Nico movie. Maybe have played out better in the hands of someone more talented or professional. Kinda looks like it was shot in someones back yard, because it likely was.
4/10 and that's pretty good rating for a Nicolas Cage movie these days.
What Alicia Witt actually looks like:
