    Interesting try at sarcasm, but.
Better that people watch other, healthy people do strenuous physical activity while themselves mindlessly sit in a chair
Watching a big game on Thanksgiving day is very long held tradition shared by tens of millions of families across the country. It used to be a great device to ease relations and inspire conversation amongst family members even if all the people present weren't necessarily NFL fans. I'm assuming you were a fetus or very young during the 90's so this is probably something among many others you were unaware of in the pre 2005 digital, cell, social network storm.
sit in a chair after having stuffed themselves to the breaking point with unhealthy food
Well this, I really have no idea what your point is here, is your family all severely obese people that cook nothing but high calorie fried everything loaded with saturated fat and have third and fourth servings? I mean sure people tend to eat a little more than usual due to the wide selection of entrees, but stuffed to the breaking point with unhealthy food doesn't describe my family.
than actually communicate with other people via technology!
Right, why on Earth would people want to talk to each other, especially when they haven't seen each other in months and during that time new babies have been born, new relationships, new moves, new jobs ect.. when Candy Crush Saga is there waiting on your smartphone! Like who the hell has time for that real life stuff when angry birds and facebook has 10 new notifications waiting!!
Kids these days and their "communication" - It's like like wtf??????!!!!!!????
Yea, you said it. That I agree with, just in an entirely different context than you intended.
Please do not take my little diatribe personal, I was just having a bit of fun in presenting my viewpoint and your post just happened to perfectly inspire me to expand upon it, no offense intended.

No offense taken. Again, your post was not very convincing, so no offense could really be be taken.

My point was that watching other people exercise while yourself doing nothing is nothing to be admired. Whether it is a "very long held tradition" or not is immaterial. Can you understand this simple concept?
stuffed to the breaking point with unhealthy food doesn't describe my family.
? No-one said it did. Did you actually read my response?

Uh, again, you failed to read (or comprehend) what was written. YOU suggested passively watching mindless sports was better than communication. Communication via technology is still communication. I am arguing in favor of communication (via technology or in person) NOT communicating and hypocritically watching mindless sports.

No. There are dumb kids and/or cruel kids, but not enough to define an entire generation.
