That is, can I start with any episode, without having seen the ones before (and without the need to keep watching to finish the story line of that episode)?

Each episode is self contained. Like the
Twilight Zone
or
The Outer Limits
. So you can skip around as much as you want.
Clever things make people feel stupid and unexpected things make them feel scared

Yes, but they bury hints to other episodes. Not spoilers, but amusing references if you are paying attention.
