Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Black Mirror

I really liked this one, the whole idea of being able to enter a movie and interact with the characters is fascinating.
I spotted a couple of hints to previous episodes of Black Mirror but it reminded me a little of the Beyond the Sea episode.

Liked the concept and thought the feel of thirties-era films was good, but got bored with the story. This one was the least interesting one out of the season.

loved the concept so much…but the story did not do it for me. the wife however loved it and it was probably her favorite. have you completed the season yet?

It got the lowest ratings of all season 7 episodes.

Tie between 5 and 6, with 1 coming in a very close second.

Yes, 5 is Eulogy, which I really liked on a lot of levels.
I enjoyed Callister. It and its predecessor had the old feel,Star Trek vibe.
Season 7 overall was pretty solid.

                    The Real Soldier Boy — 11 months ago(April 19, 2025 06:35 AM)

It's generally been about 6/10 level for me this season - I'm currently 5.5 episodes deep.
Episode 1 was misery porn that I felt a chore to get through and had no cathartic payoff.
Episode 2 was probably my least favourite episode of the show yet.
Episode 3 was an interesting concept but objectively a mediocre BM episode.
Episode 4 was a silly concept, but I loved seeing Will Poulter's Colin Ritman character again and Capaldi was 10/10 as always.
Episode 5 I'm liking so far, though I'm presuming
the point of the episode is going to be he was the asshole
                    .

Eulogy fell just a little flat for me…I guess as I get closer to it myself and being surrounded by it for the last several years…death can go suck a bag o' dicks for reelz lol!
Callister was a good follow up…but there was something about the end that left me a bit unsatisfied… haven't decided what exactly it was tho.

Eulogy was completely bereft of any story and only works because Paul Giamatti is an acting God.
Episode 4 was nonsense too and carried by the similarly gifted Peter Capaldi.

I just finished episode 5 - the Paul Giamatti episode. It had barely any plot at all, but he was as great as ever.
                                  6/10 at a push.
This season has been **** to be honest. I'm probably going to need to rewatch the Star Trek episode again to remember the plot for the sequel finale. But honestly I really can't be arsed.

Pontoon, I think you guys call it something different, I've definitely seen it on US TV.

I googled it and it seems to be a form of blackjack. Do you play with the whole 52 card deck? Seems. Some people remove the tens making it a 48 card deck.
