Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Banshee

Give Ray Donovan a look. Great cast and Ray might be able to hang with Hood in the bad ass department. The new season starts June 26th.

I'm hoping Quarry (Greg Yaitanes project) might be something to look forward to but, I don't see any news of a premier date. I thought I read here that it was supposed to start soon after Banshee ended.

Quarry has a fall premiere but no definite date yet.

The other new Cinemax show, Outcast starts after Banshee ends. Quarry does not have a date yet. And it's kind of funny that even though Banshee had such a long time from filming to premiere, extended by almost 4 months, Quarry finished filming even before Banshee, at around the time they started filming Banshee.

Ray Donovan is garbage and a waste of some very talented actors

I agree except for the very talented actors part - the only good one is Liev Schreiber. The rest of the cast is as awful as the series itself.

Ray Donovan is a terrific show with an extremely unlikable cast of characters who you somehow end up rooting for some of them anyway.

I like Ray Donovan, it's interesting and similar to Banshee. All over, I love shows with flawed individuals.

I don't know, I don't think these 2 shows are comparable. Strike Back is a straight up action show with little else, it almost entirely lacks the well done character work that I really liked in Banshee. For someone coming from Banshee to really like Strike Back, one should have enjoyed nothing about Banshee but the pure action and sex scenes.

Exactly. Strike Back is so lame, especially if compared to Banshee.

Impastor. It's the comedy version of Banshee, instead of a thief/con man, the protagonist is a scumbag, instead of sheriff, he impersonates a gay pastor (he's straight and knows nothing about the bible).

Yeah right down and it's one of the finest TV shows to ever have been made right up there with Banshee The Sopranos the wire and Breaking Bad

I disagree. I felt VERY let down by Ray Donovan, and had no interest in the second season. It's still going?

I'd give Justified a run for it's money, The Shield too, Bloodline, Rectify and Kingdom are also criminally underrated

                                          Preacher
                                          .
It was the supposed similarities to the comic that got me into Banshee in the first place, and only two days after said show concludes comes the TV-adaptation of Preacher! Begins tomorrow.
