Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — American Gods

Did not know the Romans made it this far over. But with the idea of gods changing for modern times I wonder if they will change what happened to Thor, who is now a comic book character and movie character.

      Wait, Spock's in this?
(Yes, I know who the god Vulcan is. I just couldn't resist)
They might. But I'm kind of hoping they don't, so those people that only know Thor through the movies can get all excited and then be completely devastated when it's offhandedly mentioned that he blew his brains out.

I was also wondering if Vulcan turned out to be a god of nerds with pointing ears and said live long and prosper.
I am actually hoping they show the story of how Thor came to blow his brains out if they choose to continue with that. What makes a god commit suicide? It's kind of an interesting topic.

Haephestus/Vulcan should be played by Jamie Hyneman.

He's the god of guns, actually. Which makes a lot of sense.
Yeah, that would be something worth exploring.
