This show is insanely overrated

I was a one and done with it too Pandy
I thought Ian McShane, Gillian Anderson and Crispin Glover did wonderful jobs as their respective gods and Storm and Laura were so much better than the book versions. Even keeping the taxi driver in the story added to the book as oppose to it being vice-versa.
But the second season took such a nosedive straight away that I dropped it impulsively.
They had the time to do a tour of the US and explore the god model properly before getting to the Disneyland mountain but jumped straight to the end of the book and decided to make their own story and it didn't have the legs
Shame, but season 1 was a joy

I was quite late to watching I think (and I don't know the books) but I remember when I watched season 1 I was so impressed and thought it was one of the coolest shows I've ever watched and was so excited for season 2 but from the beginning, I just couldn't get into it. Weird how like you say it nosedived like that.
Let's just pretend there is only the one season -

I'm very comfortable with just sticking the the one season Pandy.
It really was a joy and, like you say, one of the coolest shows to have ever watched
Anderson as Bowie was something else entirely. That girl can act like nobodies business
