    I think you need to educate yourself. Poe was a horror novelist. Hitchcock is considered horror (and, he is credited with the subgenre that is Slash due to his work with Psycho, by the way). Rosemary's Baby is a movie in the horror genre. Horror is classified simply as preying upon our most primal fears. Sometimes, gore is involved; however, that is what it needs to rely on. instead, it should deal with the fear that goes along with that gore.

      When do haunted house/slasher movies have much of a plot other than origin story and possibly who the killer is (if it's real people slasher and not Friday the Thirteenth or something)?
