Everything made perfect sense to me. Keeping in mind that Sue and Elizabeth are one in the same, "Sue" enjoyed the perks of returning to the very job she just got canned from.
The secrecy of The Substance makes sense as well for the same reason so many women get procedures done, and deny having them done, because there's a shame or stigma associated with it, so her getting it on the black market or secretly is actually pretty logical.
Sue using up more time also makes sense because Elizabeth was bashed for her age and reminded (in vulgar ways) that the only important quality is youth and regardless of whether people like you and I think that Elizabeth was still attractive, Harvey fired her and told her (in a crude and abrupt way) that she had aged out of the business. That reinforced her desire to enjoy the youthful "Sue" that she had become.
As for the monster, I think that's also important. It's an over-exaggeration of the monsters that people become when they give in to that societal pressure to continue to change themselves and/or when they give up on themselves and accepting themselves as they are. At the end, Elizasue had come to accept that this was her, and when she did, she got rejected. It confirms that women accepting themselves, even (or especially) after all of that, will still get you rejected.
I had a feeling (remember when I mentioned it?) that you may have a hard time watching this, especially towards the end. The reason I said that was because it reminded me of The Blob, and I recall you saying that that movie freaked you out!

I'm 1hour and 20 mins in over the weekend. I hate how the new version knew what to do with the old version via the suturing but we never see her letting the old version take control for the next 7 days.
Also the 100 feet away camera side angles are annoying.
Tell you what…When I send my ex-wife her money…you can lick the stamps.
