Ndlovu Youth Choir release isiZulu Version of Bohemian Rhapsody

The Ndlovu Youth Choir released a new version of Queen’s ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’,
marking the first time the song was officially translated and recorded with
the approval of surviving band members Brian May and Roger Taylor.

Performed in isiZulu, the choir’s rendition adapts the well-known track with African harmonies while maintaining the emotion and intensity of the original.
"Securing the rights to perform and record ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ was a long and patient journey, with many role players around the world working together to make this dream possible,"
Choir master Ralf Schmitt said.
"The Choir is thrilled to share this very special version with audiences everywhere. To have the blessing of Brian May and Roger Taylor is an immense honour, and we cannot wait for the world to hear it."
The release comes ahead of the group’s 2025 Heritage Tour, which begins in September. The national tour will focus on smaller towns and underserved communities in addition to performances in major cities.
Founded in Moutse, Limpopo, the choir gained international recognition through appearances at venues such as Carnegie Hall and the Berlin Philharmonie, and for reaching the finals of America’s Got Talent. They collaborated with artists including P!nk and Kygo, worked with Disney and Netflix and contributed to UNICEF fundraising initiatives.
