The scene with the car crash on the bridge: Dylan Stayed near the car while it was on fire until seconds before it exploded and sent him rolling over the hood of his own car. Since he knew that was part of the trick the only reason he risked his life is to fool us. This plus the part where he fights Franco plus the scene where he shoots his gone and the girl push his arm plus the scene where he gets angry drunk = Too much bull crap just to fool us.
Could have been 7/10 if the end did not take us for dummies.

Absolutely nailed it. This is my major issue too There were far too many scenes (such as those you mentioned) which, given we now n know who Mark Ruffallo's character really is, don't actually make sense, but were included to throw us off the scent.
I'm sure the filmmakers might argue this was part of their own misdirection to us the viewer, but I'm not convinced that was their actual intention. -

While these actions do enable the audience to assume they know the role he is playing, he is doing all the things to sell his role to the other characters in the film. I don't really think this is that complicated.
