It's a PG movie. What did you expect? Did you want it to be less cheesy and more gritty? Did you want Lily Collins to look more like a generic Hollywood girl? Didn't you know what to expect from the trailers and previews?
Considering its source material and its target audience, the movie succeeded in what it set out to do. Personally I loved this movie. I thought it was adorable, funny, visually gorgeous, and appropriate for both children and adults. I'm all in favor of analyzing/critiquing films and such, but sometimes you have to just sit back and enjoy without over-thinking it.

Agreed! I watched this last night and it was just the kind of funny fare I needed.

First off robble-1, I love your sig (I'm a BIG Doctor Who fan).
Second, I didn't mind that the movie was PG, it was just that it was so boring. Nathan Lane was good in the movie, and there were some funny parts, but overall, I just thought it was boring.
Well, I've got news for you pal, you ain't leadin' but two things: Jack and sh*t and Jack left town

Hey, different strokes for different folks. I hated Enchanted and everybody else seemed to love it! I thought it was painfully unfunny and pretty boring except for the parts where the prince comes to find her. him attacking the bus and getting run over by cyclists were the highlights of the movie for me. Heh.
Thanks for liking my sig. Nice to meet a fellow Whovian!

Yes, all generations should be able to find something to like in this one. I loved the dwarves' dialogue and the big Bollywood ending.

Yeah, I'm kind of surprised at the low rating. It was enjoyable for what it was.

I absolutely love this movie. I'm a big sucker for modern retellings of fairytales, though I'd like to see much more diversity. (I mean c'mon! Europe isn't the only place with fairytales!) But I was happy with both this one and Snow White and the Huntsman.

I like fantasies that are generally just within the PG range. I could have done with a little more menace in this one. This movie's strength is it's bizarre atmosphere.
