Could someone elaborate on the 'hierarchy' within the firm?

Assume I'm a small child, or a golden retriever.
I work for a small software company, the hierarchy is simple. I report to the VP of sales, and they report to the CEO. Simple, yay.
Within this film, I had a hard time understanding the corporate hierarchy - ie, who all reports to who, who is equal, who are unrelated, etc. It didn't help that they had large meetings with a bunch of people in the room that seemingly spanned several chains of command. -

There were some people in the meeting I have no idea what their job roles were but they were probably positions such as CFO, COO and assorted more junior positions, but of the main cast it goes like this:
