so I'm 35 minutes in.. basicly this has happened
Gerard Butler is a junkie Biker.. who robs people and beats people up and uses a shotgun, a realy psycho.now in self defense he kills some guy
2 minutes of screentime later, he is a church going man sobered up and just bought a huge house with his family..
but then he wants to go to Africa, just like that, what about his family? making money? its not like he is rich or did i miss that part too?.. sure he got a job as a contractor, but does that suddenly afford what he is doing?.
So he went to Africa, now here is the most absurd part, it turns out he isn't just there to be a good christian.. he specifically wants to go into the warzone.. why!? no motivation is given.. he just wants to go there
its like the script needed this gold hearted biker to go to Africa and kill a lot of people.. And they didn't really know how to get him there..
I understand that this is based on a real story but it must have happened differently..
I once convinced a woman I was Kevin Costner because I believed it myself. -

Apparently there was an article where they mentioned that one of human beings' characteristic is curiosity. I know, I find that hard to believe myself.

I don't see the problem. What where they supposed to do -spend another hour on character development just so some dumb viewers feel "filled in" about the time gap between becoming a Christian, and wanting to go help those less fortunate in Africa?
It made sense. He heard a missionary talking about Africa, and wanted to go help build churches and orphanages over there since he was a contractor. Then later he got sucked into the violence.
