Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Machine Gun Preacher

Why? It has an unfolding story, character development, a much more interesting marital, relationship and better writing; but most of all Gerard Butler more convincing in his role than Bradley Cooper in his.

But the soldiers in american sniper died. And Machine Gun Preacher is till alive. That is why American Sniper is better. We are suppose to think that. Now get with the program.

Sorry, but I don't really get the comparison to American Sniper apart from the fact they are both semi-biographical and feature guns. You may as well compare this to Schindler's List. That too is semi-biographical, has guns and a guy helping people.
