"Skyline" pulls no punches. This is what will happen if the aliens really want to kill us. No Bruce Willis. No Will Smith. No Slim Pickens CD's. No Tom Cruise with a cold virus. Just an all-out, no-holds-barred, no sympathy, full-on assualt of the human race. I'm not saying it's gonna happen or anything, I'm just saying that this POV is freaking fantastic! It's nice to see a cinematic version of what could actually happen without a cheesy Hollywood ending.

The acting was horrible. The plot was full of holes..qwhatever. I loved this "crap" and am watching it again. I suggest the rest of you go watch ID4 or "War of The Worlds".

I love this movie I can forgive the bad acting and whatnot but yes this is what woould likely happen if aliens make it to Earth.
There may not be any nice speeches or flowery words but there will be fighting. Lots of fighting.
Either that or they try to smooth talk their way into our planet like the Votans in Defiance, and that didn't end too well for everyone either They messed up our planet. -

There are way worse than this in the way of movies that try to take themselves seriously. The Asylum rip-offs come to mind immediately. I actually found much of the acting to be better in Skyline than in the Asylum movies. I watched parts of Atlantic Rim, and dude The acting in that one is atrocious. Not to mention the bad cinematography and the subpar SFX. IMO, Skyline was actually much better in that department.

The Asylum movies are they are. I don't consider them actual movies. Right down there with "Sharktopus" et al. I'm not gonna lie and say I'm not familiar with Asylum movies, but I watch them differently then when I watch a real movie.

Couldn't agree more.
Skyline was most likely despised because it was neither happy nor cheesy. Just look at all the threads asking "y teh alienz were so hostile???".
And yes, War Of The Worlds sucked hard.
Boycott movies that involve real animal violence (& their directors)
