SPOILERS.
The tallest pirate overacts and tries to be threatening and menacing, he cannot pull it off, he and the other pirates are not scary at all. The other pirates are natural in their performances, but that particular one tries too hard.
The movie itself is good though, regardless of any inaccuracies to the true story. I read that the real Captain Phillips was unlikable, his crew hated travelling with him and his stubbornness apparently was partly to blame for the hijacking.
The film score is brilliant and catchy, it's composed by Henry Jackman. If you love your film music, check out the album.
