Agree, it was funny, enjoyable and had great effects and decent enough action scenes and a little romance. I wish there were more UK films like this one where they get it all right in small doses! B+

Not much to add other than I too loved this movie; a great piece of horror/comedy that was just loaded with droll asides. And the premise of getting everyone drunk to combat the monster was genius. Worth seeing again for the dialog and beautiful settings alone. (Hint to US viewers. Best to watch this with subs if they are available)

Saturday night, and i catch a cold so, it's netflix time, wife going to sleep so i'm more than an hour searching for a movie to watch with my kids.
Finally I gave up and my son says THIS i wanna see (pointing at grabbers) for the title and the picture up front, how can I say this I just think oh well, what the hell, let's see a dam horrible movie about a ridiculuos moster with tentacles, let's have some fun.
Oh boy was I wrong, not only the movie delivers in all aspects, great acting, super charismatic characters, i really wanted to visit this guys and stay in that town for a week !, the monster was also a lot of fun and not without it's own character too.
Ruth bradley (the female lead) was cute as hell and this movie has the typical feel of the old days fun-monster movie, what else could I want, the kids totally loved the little critters and the scene in the bar was a proper homage to the Gremlins rocking the bar scene, i just LOVED this freaking movie.
You know why it was so good?, people doing the movie seemed to really love what they were doing and it shows, they were perfectly happy with their characters, this was a movie done with love, now I wanna see critters, gremlins and all those monster movies of the 80s.

Watching it now. The monsters are really cool and the Irish dialogue is hilarious ("He called you a bollocks!"), lol.

You'll love it and wish that there were more movies like this afterwards.

                  Told you !
It's one of those movies you start watching when you can't seem to find anything and then you get your expectations fulfilled in a big way, with a big smile on your face and thinking why isn't more movies like this one out there?
