Bongo died a few days ago, peacefully, in bed, surrounded by friends, relatives and well-wishers (only Del and Twiz were there, and the guy who had to turn off the life support system). It was a very moving scene. Bongo was asked if he regretted anything, and in a hoarse whisper he confessed that he had always liked VeHes and had looked up to him. His favourite poster, of course, was Bentley. He regretted harassing the many women he had harassed (Twiz murmured Me Too at this point). He thanked everyone for playing, and for allowing him to live rent-free… At this point the life-support system operator, pointing out that the hospital had allowed him the maximum period possible without fees, turned off the machine. Bongo died as he had lived, unstable but essentially well-intentioned.
Please be respectful to his memory. No wreaths. -

She's sad, but she's bearing up well (she's 95, a year younger than Bongo was when he passed!). She said she didn't see much of him in the last few years. He was always in the public library, on the computer there. He wore out three keyboards.

I once came back to the band's bus after a show one winter's night in Winnipeg, and a beautiful woman wearing only a smile and a guitar was waiting for me there. She taught me this song:
