Free speech

Even in your country, where free speech is most free, you'll have some issues if you (without reason) shout 'fire!' in a crowded movie theater, or if you incite people to commit genocide. There are limits to free speech, not many but a few.

In most countries you'll get in trouble for speech that threatens harm, incites violence, or harasses.
Having said that, I find the American dedication to free speech admirable. Everyone wants to keep speech as free as possible, just apppreciating that there always will be some guardrails. -

On the matter of free speech it's interesting to compare a country like the U.S. to a country like Canada. They are both free countries and representative democracies.
But in Canada "hate speech" which denigrates anyone based on race, sex or sexual orientation is illegal. While that same "hate speech" is protected by our Bill of Rights in the U.S.
