Box-office-wise, and therefore in popular appeal, THG >> BR

Is anyone else tired of seeing Battle Royale on this forum when it's for The Hunger Games? Some people look at this for enjoyment and what other people say, not that people keep saying THG is a ripoff of Battle Royale.

As a fan of BOTH novels, you're looking into this deeper then you need to. Yes, there are many, many similarities. They contain a similar plot, on many levels. However, there IS a chance that collins did not hear of 'battle royal'. As you're probably familiar with, it is a japanese book, writen by a japanese author, and translated into english. That, very well, could be reason enough of how she had not heard of it. The idea came to here when she was flipping channels on her T.V, one night, and kept flipping from a reality show, to shots and clips of bombings, government intervention, etc. That is how the idea surfaced. Both books are wonderful (though battle royale is much more raw, with less sugar coating).
