7.5/10
Well, I really enjoyed it. Sure, there were moments that were a tad bit unrealistic, but it's a film! The idea is to entertain, and entertain it did!
Michael Caine was, as always, wonderful, that guy just can't give us a bad performance. He was certainly in quite a few beep movies back in the eighties, but he admits himself it was all just for the money, so good on him. Since he as been financially secure, and able to be more picky, he has been in some excellent movies.
Emily Mortimer and Charlie Creed-Miles were both excellent as the two coppers. David Bradley (Len) is another fine actor (recognise him and Iain Glen from Game of Thrones?). Also, I am a big fan of Sean Harris, he was superb playing Ian Brady, the Moors Murderer in 'See No Evil' (highly recommended, you can find it on YouTube). He's a great character actor. And Ben Drew (the rapper Plan B) gave us a good performance - I highly recommend the film he wrote and directed 'Ill Manors', which, as I speak, the full movie is on YouTUbe, but be quick I'm sure it will be take down soon.
The sad truth of this movie is that the low-life characters portrayed in this film really do exist and really are out there. They were played very realistically - I live in London and have seen and dealt with these people many times (don't ask!!). Although I do think that
the first scene was a bit OTT, people don't really go around on bikes shooting mothers with their prams!! Although maybe it was an accidental shooting, not too sure. Even so, still a bit much.
Anyway, if you haven't seen it, go see it, it's out there online free to watch. -

I enjoyed it too, but the movie is unrealistic in the extreme - as much as there are low-life people out there, these may as well have had moustaches to twirl they were so shallow. As you say, it is a movie: it doesn't need to be realistic. Though it does worry me how many people seem to think it is.
