Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Law & Order: UK

Law & Order: UK, produced by Kudos Film and Television and Wolf Films, is based on the well known US series Law & Order and follows the investigation of a major crime by the Metropolitan Police Service and the subsequent prosecution undertaken by the Crown Prosecution Service. ITV1 has ordered 8 episodes for the shows seventh season, which will enter production this November.
Freema Agyeman and Harriet Walter will not be returning for the recently announced seventh season of ITV1′s drama series Law & Order: UK.
Both actresses have been with the series since it launched in 2009, with Agyeman playing junior Crown Prosecutor Alesha Phillips and Walter playing Detective Inspector Natalie Chandler. It is understood that the reason for the departure of both Agyeman and Walters was due to a clash between the production schedule for Law & Order: UK and prior professional commitments of both actresses. I understand that on Freema Agyemans part that professional commitment was to The CWs upcoming Sex and the City prequel series The Carrie Diaries which is slated for a mid-season launch in the United States.
Given the loss of both actresses, Kudos have begun the process of casting a new young, prosecutor and Detective Chief Inspector for the shows eight episode seventh season, which is due to enter production in November. All other remaining cast members, including Bradley Walsh, Paul Nicholls, Dominic Rowan and Peter Davison will return for the new season, which is due to air on ITV1 in 2013.

Bradley Walsh's role is without a doubt based on Lenny, Jerry's role, while on the subject Freema's role makes me think of Clare and the fact she's half black
one might think of Paul Robinette. They never has a black women in the ADA role on L&O and there was only one blond

It's a shame to be losing both actresses

Harriet Walter was the whole reason I even started watching the show and I'm gonna miss her like crazy. She's never on Tv enough. It's just lucky I ended up adoring Bradley Walsh or I wouldn't even bother with it now xx

I was very sorry to hear about their departure. The show hasn't been the same since we lost Matt as Jamie Bamber did a great job so to lose Freema and Harriet as well is just killing the show. I hope Bradley Walsh sticks around as he's the best thing about the show now

Bradley Walsh has finished up as the ONLY original member of the 2 teams. They keep changing the characters as casually as changing socks, without any explanation, which REALLY annoys me!

Bradley Walsh was brilliant in it, but, it's such a shame we lost all the others with no explanation. - particularly Harriet and Jamie
