Mr. Bacon, in my 13 years in the military, before being discharged in 2009 for injuries sustained in combat, I filled in as the Grand Forks AFB, ND Honor Guard NCOIC. During the 9 months I fulfilled this position, I and my crew performed 94 funerals in ND, MN, WI, and the upper Penn of MI. I can say, from having passed the flag to the NoK that many times, that it never gets any easier. Each time I had to choke back tears realizing that one day another soldier would be doing this for one of my children. I have lost troops in battle, and suffer my own scars. My girlfriend bought your movie, Taking Chance, not realizing the memories, or their effect, that it would bring back to me. I must say that you fulfilled your character's obligation with much honor. I was told you have a home in my area and I hope to run across you at some point so that I may thank you in person.
