Contrary to what the previous poster said, your posting makes perfectly good sense, even though it's obvious that English isn't your native language. You did a whole lot better than I would do in Persian.
I don't know how much religion has to do with it. I would say that social norms play a much greater part. Of course religion influences social norms, and probably does so more in Iran than in North America. But it's society which directly affects individual attitudes.
Yes, there are indeed huge differences among peoples in the world. And when you are faced with something outside what's common in your life and experience, it's natural to feel discomfort, even when you believe the unfamiliar is better. This is one reason that it's so difficult to overcome discrimination of various kinds even people who believe that discrimination is wrong, feel uncomfortable leaving it behind until they have a chance to experience a different world.
