He didnt want to kill walt, because of Jesse, but wanted to kill Hank for his safety.
he was done with walt. circumstances made him threaten Walt and later trying to kill him as he warned DEA.
poor Gus,
there is no good or bad character in Breaking Bad, all are just grey. -

Hank killed tuco. The twins originally wanted to kill hank but were told the DEA is off limits by the cartel. But Gus gave them a pass, said north of the border was his territory and gave the twins the green light to move on hank, the actual one who killed tuco, instead of Walt.
I dont know if id consider that trying to have hank killed, it was more of a move to protect his investment (Walt). He knew the twins wouldn't be satisfied until blood was spilled, and used that to his advantage. The twins wanted hank, he just told them he was okay with it. And in gus' position, why wouldn't he? He had no reason not to.
Gus was a ruthless calculating gangster, but he struck me as reasonable until he was pushed too far. -

Gus had no choice, he had to save Walt as he needed him to cook.
he tried to hit two birds with one stone and he suceeded it, pulling off the Walt from the Heat and the Revenge and the business profit.
he was good criminal, he was intelligent and just. his badluck he had to face Walt and destroyed himself -

Gus is a drug dealer, therefore he is bad. No arguemtn here. We are not talking about some minor recreational drugs. We talk about an empire built on the addiction, pain and death of countless victims.
No matter what he went through, no matter what his intentions are, there is no two sides to this. He sold drugs, he let people be killed by his henchmen, he kills himself. He is bad.
but they hung him anyway.
Hanged, Ami. Your father was not a tapestry. -

Gus was an awful human being. A good businessman, yes, but still a murderous scumbag at the end of the day. Walt, Jesse, Mike and Gus were all pretty bad people, no better than the dealers and gangsters they were in conflict with. I'd say that Saul is more of a grey character. He's a dishonest crook but there are some lines he won't cross.
You who wish to conquer pain, you must learn to serve me well. -

I'm thinking this is a joke or you are just trying to be combative today.
Gus employed and killed children. That's why he and Jesse started feuding in the first place. Gus ruthlessly built and managed a drug empire ruining thousands of lives.
Of all the characters in BB, only The white supremacist group and Tuco were more rotten as human beings than Gus
And it's not about the "grey" at all. BB quickly turned Walt into a bad guy who did it for money or excitement as opposed to just pay for his cancer - because that wasn't a good character arc for an entire show
At the end of the day, the only guy I would want as my neighbor would be Hank, and he was obnoxious.
Does that mean I don't love watching these characters? Of course not. But I can separate the two.
