      no, he doesnt. that was not his intention.
      if ever there was the slightest chance he may have been leaning toward that, it was not his own opinion. in college, professors play devil's advocate to make you think. it has nothing to do with their own views. the boys landed on that by themselves, if they saw it that way or not. dont be so ignorant.

        If it was their own choice to enlist (without Malley's influence) then they were idiots. With their college degrees, they could've definitely got decent paying jobs.

            Mind you, I've only seen the film once; but I do recall Arian (Derek Luke) making a comment about his student loan debt. I thought it was one of the few factors that caused to him and his friend to enlist, along with Malley's teachings.

              that it was, they gave their reasoning right there at the lunch table and if you had been paying attention you'd see that not only did RR character NOT manipulate them into anything, but he tried to talk them out of it and they gave their reasonings behind it.
