How can the highest grossing movie of all time (and by some accounts this makes it the best movies of all time) not have any memorable lines that have made their way into pop culture?
    Some examples:
Star Wars: "Luke, I am your father", "use the force"
Forrest Gump: "Run, Forrest, run!""Life is like a box of chocolates"
Jaws "You're gonna need a bigger boat"
Terminator 2 "Hasta la vista baby", "I'll be back"
Captain Phillips "I'm the captain now"
Goodfellas "Funny how? Like a clown?"
A Christmas Story "You'll shoot your eye out kid"
Wizard of Oz "We aren't in Kansas anymore" "I'll get you.. and your little dog too!!"
Titanic "I'm the king of the world!!"
    ET "ET phone home"
Scarface "Say hello to my little friend!"
Apocalypse Now "I love the Smell of napalm in the morning"
Big Lebowski let's not even get started.
    etc etc etc
Avatar doesn't have any lines like this.
Where are the memorable characters? Memorable scenes even?
    Darth Vader
    Hannibal Lecter
    The Godfather
    The Wicked Witch
    Forrest Gump
    The Terminator
    Alien
    Freddy Kreuger
    Snow White
    Little Mermaid
Say any of those names and everyone will know who you are talking about. I have never heard anyone mention any Avatar characters by name. I have heard "the blue chick alien" and "the paralyzed dude" and that's about it. That tells you a lot right there.
What a strange movie this Avatar; giant box office earnings, little to no staying power in our daily lives. Just like the bag of popcorn you ate watching it, once it was done it was never thought of again.

The power of the cinematography in Avatar hasn't even sunk in yet. Once that does, once these amazing, new, breathtakingly beautiful characters become common to us, their dialogue might stick out more.

I can't help but love all of Quaritch's dialogue with Jake when they first meet in that hangar bay. I don't know. He may seem like a stereotype to these people but he's got a lot of character in that scene.

About 20 movies before Avatar can claim "You aren't in Kansas anymore" including the Wizard of Oz. The Matrix is one that easily comes to mind.

Sorry but "I see you" is not a thing. Nobody says it, it does not evoke any kind of reaction from people.

Again, Avatar is unlike any other successful film in history. The characters are so uncommonly new, interesting and beautiful, just by virtue of their vibrant colors and alien features, it's hard to look at something as plain as the script or any other human device the same way.

Funny I never see any kids running around at Halloween in Avatar costumes. Lots of Iron Man, Captain America, Frozen. Never the vibrant aliens of Avatar.
And the script is everything. Movies are stories, how the story is told is what makes it memorable. Razzamatazz special effects are neat-o in the moment, but soon forgotten. A good script though magic.

LOL. Avatar has a story. It has a script. It's the genius of Cameron's revolutionary use of cinematography that's blinding audiences from fully appreciating his scripts.

I can't wait for the new one.
I do hope the rumors are true. I hope there's footage used from the lowest point in the ocean and I hope he introduces a new framerate and forces theaters to update their gear to host them much like Tarantino did with The Hateful Eight.
The only difference is by starting to record movies at 48 or 60fps he'll be introducing technology no one will want to go without again. Even 3D changed the industry but people don't really NEED 3D.. or most don't. Once you see a new version of clarity in movies, it's hard to go back to pre-1080p, etc..

It is still #1 Worldwide by a HUGE margin

Not even close. Sure, if you just look at the US market, but that is really completely irrelvant these days, at least by itself. The worldwide take is what winds up deciding how successful a film ultimately is and Avatar still destroys Star Wars on this front. So nice try, but sorry no cigar. Avatar is still #1 and by a pretty large margin. Star Wars simply wasn't nearly as successfu as Avatar in overseas box offices and thus nowhere near as successful as Avatar overall. Again, looking at just the US market is pretty irrelevant in the modern box office.
                              Still Shooting With Film!

Well , here are some memorable lines that I remember :
Sigourney Weaver : Get away from me , you blue alien b!tch ! ( mimic her own line in 1986 Aliens movie )
-zero sadana : why did you call me to the middle of the forest in the middle of the night ?
-sam worst thing ton : Im a sick , perverted human so I get attracted to fugly "blue monkeys" like you instead of normal pretty human girls . I want to do something really fun with you .
-zero sadana : NNNOOO , please dont rape me . I can offer some of my best friends to you instead , like the girl Dfwuesmx is a good hunter , or Jstrmkerf is very cute , meaning she is less fugly than me on "blue monkeys" 's standard .
-sam worst thing : But I only want your body . And because we are savage animals , we will do it before wedding , without any protection/contraception , and in the forest .
                                    Next morning :
-zero sadana : No , they destroyed my tree , now I have to use other trees as toilets .
-sam worst thing : Quit you eternal b!tching , you b!tch . Just plant another tree and stop crying over "spilled tree" . I raped you last night so you are my b!tch now , so listen to me .
-zero sadana : Because your friends destroyed my toilet , so it is clearly your effing fault . Eff off , I dont want to see your fugly face again .
-sam worst thing : Dont worry , I will betray my superior white human race and help your inferior "blue monkeys" race to kill every single one of human for destroying one single tree .
                                    Other worse dialogues are :
-zero sadana : You dumb animal , because you made so much noise in the forest so I was forced to kill another dumb animal to save your life .
-sam worst thing : Quit you eternal b!tching , you dumb animal . Maybe you should just let me die , that way , I dont have to listen to your b!tching anymore .

Never in my life have I heard anyone quote any of those lines or scenes. Not among friends, not on Saturday Night Live, nowhere. Some of those lines.. I don't even know what the corresponding scene to those is.
But you tell someone "Remember that Joe Pesci scene from Goodfallas, you know the funny like a clown scene.."
                                      Almost everyone knows that.

See, you may not even like Star Wars but 33 years later you still know the lines and music from Return of the Jedi. That illustrates my point exactly. We're barely 7 years removed from Avatar and what are we left with? The biggest box office of all time and no memories, no cultural impact.
